Is Tinker an Uncommon or Mythic Rare?

Both rarities have been printed only once.

FTV sets print all cards at Mythic Rare.

But Tinker is such a horribly broken and overpowered card, it probably should be a mythic rare.

For the purposes of the Noble format, Tinker is an uncommon. The rule is that the card's lowest printed rarity is what counts. Really I agree that it should be rare or mythic due to power level if it should exist at all, which is debatable. After all, it does two things that burn R&D over and over again - the ability to cheat mana cost and the ability to dig something out of your deck. The Urza saga is infamous for having incredibly powerful cards - think Academy Ruins, Yawgmoth's Will/Bargain, Metalworker, Memory Jar, Gaea's Cradle, Goblin Lackey, Time Spiral, Exhume, the list really does go on and on. See this thread for more examples -

Really, if the urza's set was made today half of those cards wouldn't see print. And yes, I know that Grislebrand is a card, but it's a creature, costs more, and you have to go with 7 life at once rather than paying for what you need one card at a time.

I have Saga Tinker here about 3-7 times, it's definately UC. =)
But I somehow don't think it needs a banning. I mean... what should it do? You can't find your Noble with it and all other non-rare artifacts I can think of aren't that good in comparison to another type of strategy, Or do I miss something?

I agree Crivaro, I seriously doubt it needs banning. The scariest stuff that you can fetch in this format are things like Bronze Horse, Phyrexian Juggernaut and Darksteel Gargoyle, all of which are also uncommons. That's still a pretty big beating depending on which deck you're facing down, especially if you go ahead and sacrifice Chromatic Star for card advantage.

If you go ahead and fetch Composite Golem then it acts like a ritual! Cool! This could easily become a line of play in storm decks which feature Chromatic Star, although the need for chromatic star is lessened by the existence of Manamorphose. It's also worth noting that this line of play isn't nearly as strong in storm as Frantic Search, which was banned.
